Ready for a rollercoaster of emotions? Our drama kicks off with Xie Yantang, fresh out of prison (thanks, family!), only to be tossed into the emotional gauntlet of his adoptive brother, Ye Xingbei’s, cello performance.
Poor Yantang can’t catch a break – he’s immediately accused of being a canine assailant (he’s allergic, people!) and gets blamed for everything. Seriously, this family (and his fiancĂ©e, Pei Yuyan!) is totally under Xingbei’s manipulative spell, showering the adopted golden boy with lavish gifts and attention while Yantang gets the short end of the stick, and then some.
But wait, there’s more! Xingbei, the true villain of this tale, ups the ante by staging a kidnapping and explosion, leading to Yantang’s unjust confinement in a “small dark room”.
